Garza celebrates 20 years with Speight Agency

The Kenny Speight Insurance Agency in The Woodlands is honoring a valued employee as she reaches a 20-year milestone with the family business.

Kenny Speight hired Rose Garza in 1991. She edged out the competition for the job because she was bilingual.

"It was between me and one other person, but because I am bilingual, I was given the job," Garza said in a press release.

"What we failed to tell her was that we had already made plans for our annual vacation, so she was basically thrown into her job," Speight said in the release.

"There is an old cliche about someone being their 'right arm,'" Speight added. "Rose is both my right and left arm, and I consider myself very fortunate to have her in our business and as our friend. We have only grown stronger because of her."

Garza sits on the board of the Montgomery County Hispanic Chamber. She is committed to community volunteering and family life, and so are the Speights.

"The Speights are very family-oriented, and that helped me in being a good parent as well as a good employee for them," Garza said. "I feel very blessed."

The Kenny Speight Agency is at 26414 Oak Ridge Drive in The Woodlands.
