Spring residents accuse Huffman contractor of shoddy work
Spring residents are suing over claims a contractor filed a fraudulent lien on their home after damaging it during rehab.
Spring residents Dawn Jones and Kelly Weller filed a lawsuit on May 29 in Harris County District Court against Huffman resident Mark Veach, doing business as Specialty Design and Construction, citing breach of contract, breach of warranties and violations of the Deceptive Trade Practices Act.
The plaintiffs say on Oct. 1, 2011, they hired Veach to make repairs to their Spring-area home, located in the 19900 block of Cypresswood Springs. According to the brief, the defendant performed shoddy work on the home, which resulted in more property damage.
The plaintiffs are seeking attorney's fees, court costs and damages. They are being represented in the case by Spring resident Bruce C. Tough.
