The Montgomery County Youth Services organization recently received a $6,500 grant from the Woodforest Charitable Foundation for general operating support.

The Woodforest Charitable Foundation was started in 2005 by Woodforest National Banks to help the communities in which its banks are located.

“We are so excited to receive this grant,” said John Bracken, executive director of MCYS, in a press release. “The foundation has been a regular supporter and helps us fill the funding gaps that our other grants and contracts don’t cover.”

Montgomery County Youth Services provides crisis counseling, food, clothing, shelter and prevention services to area families.

A United Way Agency and a beneficiary of the Community Development Block Grant, Montgomery County Youth Services has offices in The Woodlands, Magnolia, Splendora, Willis and Huntsville.
