Four Memorial Hermann hospitals were collectively awarded the Texas Health Care Quality Improvement Gold Award from TMF Healthy Quality Institute, the Medicare Quality Improvement Organization for Texas.

The hospitals were Memorial Hermann Northwest Hospital, Memorial Hermann Southeast Hospital, Memorial Hermann Southwest Hospital and Memorial Hermann The Woodlands Hospital.

The Texas Health Care Quality Improvement Gold Award recognizes excellence in high-quality care for patients with acute myocardial infarction or AMI (heart attack), heart failure, pneumonia and surgical care, according to a press release.

These four hospitals were the only hospitals in Houston to earn the award.

The award was accepted by Michael Warneke, medical director of quality at Memorial Hermann Southeast Hospital; William Parks, chief medical officer at Memorial Hermann The Woodlands Hospital; TMF Board of Trustees member Carla F. Ortique; Gary Kerr, CEO of Memorial Hermann Northwest Hospital; and Kristel Poffinbarger, chief medical officer at Memorial Hermann Southwest Hospital.
