8-year-old accidentally run over, expected to survive
An 8-year-old girl is expected to survive after being accidentally run over.
According to a report by Lt. Dan Norris, Administrative Services PIO, with the Montgomery County Sheriff's Office were dispatched to a residence on Pecan Grove in East Montgomery County at around 1:30 p.m. Aug. 15.
When deputies arrived at the scene, they found that the 8-year-old had been accidentally backed over by an SUV in the driveway of the home. The SUV was driven by the victim's 18-year-old sister, who was accompanied by her 17-year-old sister in the passenger seat.
According to the report, the sisters had thought that the 8-year-old had entered the vehicle when they began to back out the the driveway.
The victim was flown to Memorial Herman Hospital. She is in stable condition and is expected to survive.
No criminal charges are anticipated.
